Ever used an induction cooker top? It is quite the experience! Absolutely nothing heats quicker than this cooker. Well, nothing in a normal kitchen that is. A kettle full of water takes less than two minutes to bring to a boil. A steak takes less than a minute to burn… Oops, yes, as fantastic as it is, it does require some careful experimentation and learning before setting out to cook for the big party.
First, to turn on the cooker, press the right-most button on the touch panel – the cooker comes on.
Second, to turn on a cooking area, select the appropriate section and press the corresponding power button.
Third, for that cooking area, press the up button – now you have full power to the cooking area. You can adjust it down, or back up.
Things to consider
- The cooking area heats the pan, not the surface. At first this seems counter intuitive but you will quickly learn to love it. Just remember that as the pan gets hot, it will heat the cooking surface, i.e. you can still burn yourself if not careful.
- Only pans that are made of the right metal will actually get hot. All our pans are made for inductions cookers.
- If you take a pan off the cooking area, it will shut off within a few seconds.
- The way to press the buttons can sometimes be confusing. The best way is to:
- Press firmly with the whole tip of your finger.
- Hold for about 1 second
- If you only press quickly and let go, nothing will happen. It doesn’t matter how hard you press. Just remember this if you find that the cooker doesn’t respond to you.
- If the cooker still doesn’t respond, just wipe off any excess water or debris and it should start responding.
